What an exciting time this is! I remember when I became a mum myself — I found those early months absolutely fascinating. How can someone change and grow so much from one month to the next? It’s an incredible time: beautiful, intense, inspiring… and at times, very exhausting too. So first of all: well done you.

At the Little Music Den, I offer parent-child music classes in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Each week, we explore a wide range of original and some more familiar songs/melodies through movement, musical play, and creative activities. The relaxed atmosphere gives little ones the freedom to react, interact, and express themselves in their own way.
Drawing on current neurological and musical research, the classes support your child’s musical development in a playful and creative way.
It’s not only a wonderful opportunity to introduce your child to a rich musical environment from an early age, but also a moment in the week for you and your little one to meet other parents and children and connect through music. A space where you can experience how music can offer connection, relaxation, joy and fun. A space filled with “Ohrwürmer”, sounds, and little musical ideas that you can continue exploring together at home throughout the week.

Sophie’s music class is one of a kind! The class itself is intimate and welcoming. Sophie offers a very unique way of enjoying music and movement together, which my 9 month old absolutely loved!
In every session, we used a variety of instruments and props that the children can freely interact with and discover. We enjoyed the class so much and it was always a highlight of our week.

What does a session look like?
My sessions are normally divided into different age groups: The Rock n Tummy Rollers: 4-18 months old and the Tempo changers: 18-36 months. By the time children can walk- then the sessions become a lot more dynamic!
We start with a arrival phase and welcoming song.
Then together (carers and babies) we explore many different songs, some through movement, some with instruments and some with props. Some of the songs will be with lyrics, but many will be without. Some will be well known, and others original.
Then together we end with a goodbye song.
The first and last 5-7 minutes of the class is for arriving and for saying goodbyes.

All courses are held at the Little Music Den, Mantlergasse, 1130.
Autumn Term 2026 : Starting in the second week of September – December
Half-term Holiday: The week of the 26th October.
0-18months: ( 10 sessions)
Thursdays: 9.30-10.15 in English
18-36 months old (11 sessions) :
Wednesdays: 15.15- 16.00 in English

Dependent on availability – Drop in classes ( 25 euros) may be possible if the class has 4 signed up members in it.
Pricing works out at 20 euros a class.
If places are available, it may be possible to start later- best is just to get in contact and ask.
Trial Classes:
Special Trial class ticket: For new families, there is a special trial class ticket. This lets you trial a class at the same time on 2 consecutive weeks for a special price of 35 euros. After that if you want to sign up, you can sign up to the rest of the term.

What instruments do we use?
We play a variety of Orff instruments across the block of sessions including Claves, Maracas, Shakers, Guiros, Kastanets, Chimes, Bells, Drums to ukuleles.
How big are the classes?
The maximum class size is 8 babies with their accompanying adult.
