I’m Sophie and I believe that music can be the source of much joy. It’s an amazing way to connect with people, help self regulate, and express oneself.
My mission is to playfully build musical foundations in order for my students to be able to find their own voice and connect through music.
This means creating classes which help them develop
musically: developing their sense of pitch, pulse and rhythm, listening and musical memory
and
socially: turn taking, being able to control impulses, developing their teamwork.
And of course- it has to be fun, engaging and incorporate movement – otherwise we don’t learn!

I believe music and movement has something to offer everyone.
Music has so much power to change our mood, moving us (internally), making us want to move physically and is a phenomenon found in every culture worldwide. It has the power to feel connected, lets us experience a whole range of emotions and can be a huge source of joy. Alongside the development of musical skills, it also creates a space to playfully develop social, cognitive, motor skills and self expression. The positive connection with ourself and with others and to music itself is a source and resource which can accompany and nourish us our whole lives.
