The Rock -n- Tummy rollers
Congratulations!! As a mum, I know that those first few months are amazing but can be tough. It’s a wonderful time of finally meeting this new being, and at the same time is one of a lot of change!
If you’re here, it means you are probably ready to leave your nest and are looking for something special which you can experience together.
If you are looking for an experience which will be filled with music, movement and cuddles, in a wonderful atmosphere with other like minded carers, then look no further.

Does this sound like you?
- You’re someone who loves music and is looking for a space to share a meaningful, creative musical experience with your little one.
- You believe in the powerful role music can play in a child’s development.
- You’re seeking more than just a class filled with nursery rhymes. You want original songs and rich rhythms that awaken your child’s ear to the beauty and depth of music.
- You believe in honoring each child’s unique pace and path of development.
My sessions are filled with live music, movement and creative games, based on Edwin Gordon’s Music learning theory (see below).
So what does a session look like?
We will start with a arrival phase and welcoming song.
Then together (carers and babies) we explore many different songs, some through movement, some with instruments and some with props. Some of the songs will be with lyrics, but many will be without. Some will be well known, and others original.
Then together we end with a goodbye song.
The first and last 5-7 minutes of the class is for arriving and for saying goodbyes.
And the end of the 45 minute class there is a half an hour to simply enjoy the space and be together.
How big are the classes?
The maximum class size is 8 babies with their accompanying adult.

What is Gordons Music theory?
Gordon’s Music Learning theory is that children can learn music exactly how they learn a language- by being immersed in its complexity. We don’t teach children to read straight- we talk to them. They are allowed to play and explore the language. When they then learn to read, it’s built on comprehension. This weekly space allows the children to become familiar to the language of music, to its building blocks and to be able to play and explore it through their bodies, reacting and interacting to it freely. Building musical memories.
The focus of my classes is on introducing the language of music: hearing different melodies, rhythms, tempos, dynamics, time signatures, modes, and expression. Together we create a space where the children can listen, explore, react and interact to music freely.

Sophie’s music class is one of a kind! The class itself is intimate and welcoming. Sophie offers a very unique way of enjoying music and movement together, which my 9 month old absolutely loved!
In every session, we used a variety of instruments and props that the children can freely interact with and discover. We enjoyed the class so much and it was always a highlight of our week.
